A Magical Home Birth
I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived, because this was the first home birth I’ve photographed. I arrived to their cute little dog, and young son at my feet. When I saw Deb I could tell she had labor under control. She was very in tuned with what was going on with her body. When I arrived she was a few weeks overdue. Rumor has it the second one comes faster. Though her little girl was late she sure did come faster. The midwives have just arrived from the Birth Cottage, their son just went down for a nap, and the dog went to hide under the bed. Something most be happening.
Deb worked through her contractors and pushing and the next thing we all knew was beautiful Hannah being welcomed to the world on their bedroom floor. She was healthy at a good 8 pounds and ready to meet her family.
After photographing births I smile for a few days straight. I really can not explain how magical it is (and I’m really not good at writing), and this is why I take photos…
